Today me and my family went to Hong Kong food cart at Bryant Park. At this time of year Bryant park was full of small carts selling everything from jewelry to shirts of the subway in the 1980's. There I got a pig belly bun. I also shared with my family a ramen noodle bowl. I loved both foods. My sister also had a pork belly bun, and my mom had a vegetarian bun. With the noodles there were pieces of sausage. Also in the noodles there was pork belly scraps, like pieces in it. Another thing in the noodles were strips of cucumber. The pork belly bun was steamed. It was like a taco soft shell. It had bok choy and two slices a pork belly meat. It had a barbeque flavor and was a bit spicy.
Another place to get food is a cart called Crepe Cafe. There I got a Hershey chocolate syrup marshmallow crepe. It was delicious. They also sell there cookies and small treats.
If you really love dumplings, then you should go to dim sum in Chinatown. I have a favorite which I will selfishly keep to myself, it's huge, and usually I am the only white person out of 500, but the second favorite is Oriental Garden on Elizabeth Street. This restaurant is small, and instead of big dim sum carts, waiters bring it around on trays. I love the har gow (shrimp dumplings) and shu mai but they also have all sorts of wonderful dumplings and I think you'd like it. I am excited to know someone as young as you enjoys food and appreciates all the good dining the city offers. I live in RI now but my family is still in NY. Gordon Brune gave us your link.
